Id try an insurance broker as opposed to just 1 company cos then the broker does the running around for you.
As you havent said what car you've got & your current insurer is refusing to add her I'd expect it to be expensive.
I tried Tesco (my policy is for 1 v.experienced driver & 1 inexperienced driver on provisional with mid-size car) & they wanted £800 MORE than my current insurer.
I wouldnt bother trying Norwich Union (quote me happy) - they wanted £2000 MORE off me than my current insurer & Sheila's wheels are a joke too.
I've got my insurance with Fortis - via the AA (the AA being the broker) - it saved me a lot of running around - I've been with Fortis before through a number of brokers & they've always been good.
Good luck with whoever you choose...it may be cheaper to buy your daughter a cheap little run-around & insure it in her name.

Compare quotes from the best companies at - INSUREGRADE.INFO-
RE My daughter is 17 next week....where can I get cheap car insurance from? I want to add her on to my policy?
She will be an additional driver. My existing insurer has refused because of her age and inexperience.

Hi, I had the same problem and my insurance company suggested that probably the best thing to do is to use the money that was needed to add her to the policy (over £1000) to buy her driving lessons. If she is also going to be buying a car, have a look at www.youngmarmalade.co.uk
They offer cheap cars and free insurance.
Good luck.

Do you have all of your insurance with this company discounts for home and auto out there. Drop this company like a hot rock! And any luck she will become a good driver despite what the school teaches her. Performance drivers training? The Drivers Edge .com? 5,000 kids die each year more than both on going wars? Don't rush driving thing...

i got cheap car insurance at 17 from admiral, however it was due to a bonus excelerator scheme to earn a no claims bonus quickly. i am now with elephant who are also good, however i have been advised to try 4youngdrivers.co.uk as they specialise in young drivers. good luck!

You get what you pay for. If she is likely to actually get into an accident, then you may want to reconsider going it cheap.
Also, some companies will offer low rates, only to jack them up when the young drivers get tickets or have accidents.

Definately try confused.com But also try your local insurance broker. When I was on my parents policy it was cheaper with the broker, but I have my own now and with 1 year NCD I found a cheaper via confused.com
