My wife is in a prison ministry. Every week she goes into a state prison and meets with the women inmates. Prays with them. Teaches bible lessons. And often baptizes them into Christ. It is a frustrating ministry, though. Probably 98% of the women who "commit" to Christ are never seen nor heard from again until they are arrested for another offense at which time they again APPEAR remorseful and open to the word.
It's that 2% that keeps her coming back though. When she really reaches someone with the Word they are on fire and it changes their lives.
I personally went on a medical mission trip to Honduras. I went to Honduras immediately after Hurricane Mitch devastated the country. It was quite an experience.

You mean, like go on a mission to teach the gospel? Yep, I went to Portugal, it was one of the most important experiences of my life.
