We have both been married twice before. She is a widow from her second marrage. I have two sons: 22, 11, and 7. She has one daughter: 20. We would like some ideas to make the day special.

I had a blast at an older couples 'surprise' wedding. They didn't want people to worry about gifts or what to wear. So, one Saturday afternoon they invited all their close friends over for a BBQ in their beautiful backyard. They had a live band going and great food. They had white christmas lights strung everywhere, table linens, etc. About an hour into it, they got up on the 'stage' and announced that we were really there to witness their marriage ceremony. It was all very classily done, we were all surprised, and we had a great time. Good luck and congrats.

Well since the two of you have been married before and had the big shindig, might I suggest a small, intimate, destination wedding. Somewhere in maybe Hawaii or Florida. Have a really nice weekend and a nice weekend wedding with your closet family. Good luck! Congrats!! :)

get married outside some place nice, like a beach or a garden with your close family and give all your kids something to do in the wedding. It doesn't have to be big to be special.

You should have a fun wedding with family and close friends only. Maybe on a boat or your favorite place. I was at the Cheesecake Factory on a pier and a couple was getting married, they said it is their fav rest. I thought that was awesome!

Do something fun for the two of you and then have a backyard cook out or something fun for the family. A gathering of the two families and introductions etc. in a less formal enviornment will make everyone more comfortable.
