I've seen some really cool colors on radiators. Feel free to use them as another decorating accessory ! They definitely don't have to be white. Just be sure to use the right kind of paint that will be resistant to the heat of the radiator so it's less likely to flake off.

They look better if they are painted the same colour as the rest of the room. I mean, who wants a radiator to `stick out` in a room? It is there to supply heat; and the skirting boards are forever being kicked and knocked and chipped, being painted white shows up the marks so much more.

i agree you can paint them whatever color you want, and i was told by the hardware store manager, that even regular paint is fine, as it is good up to temperatures hotter than the radiator should get, but remember, the darker the paint, the more heat it will hold onto. i painted mine an off white, but then again, most of the trim in my house is off white.

No, I think the radiators should be painted the same color as the wall. Don't know what 'skirting' is. Could it be 'baseboard'? Paint that either trim color or to match wall also.

It does not matter what color they are painted. There is no significant difference in heat exchange if painted white or black(one extreme to the other) or anywhere in between.
