I have a room with a finished oak wide board floors, and exposed honey coloured brick on one wall. I have a light grey couch and a darker grey vanity. What colour would look best in the room? The lighting is quite good so I don't want to go too dark but rather emphasise the light.

Note: there are three plain walls that need to be painted and one exposed brick wall.

i am liking the pale sage idea, or, get some paint samples, try to match the color of the floor and the brick, then pick a pale kind of goldey color inbetween the floor and the brick for the walls adding a touch of burnt orange for accents

I am not an interior designer (as you may agree! lol) but I think this would look nice. I love lines and as I am imagining it, your room is full of straight lines and sharp corners (i.e. bricks, wood panel floors etc). The colours all sound like they keep the room light and airy so you don't want anything too bright and colourful because it will make the room too fake. If I were you, I woul paint the remaining walls white and keep the brick as the feature wall. I would use a very pale and soft chocolate brown to paint a thin curved border about 1/3 of the way up the wall. Make sure you put a large mirror on the wall facing the brick as it will make the room appear more spacious and soften the overal feel.

I would place a large mirror on the brick to help open up the room. Paint the remaining walls a rich cream color - eggshell or ivory. Use accent items to attract the eye - pillows, artwork, etc. in bold colors, for example: a rich color in the purple and/or mauve family goes very well with the grey, If you prefer to keep it softer - more monotone - rich gold color items with a splash of black would be soothing and yet attractive. Also, select an area rug to bring all your colors together. It would be ever so beautiful!

If it was me I'd take a shade of sage green and dilute it way down so it's really light. The sagey color will look fantastic with the grey, and will bring out the honey color in your brick and floors. Green is a naturally relaxing color, and the lighter you go the more reflective and light the room will be. good luck

Do the key partitions a silvery shade - paint the accessory wall the place the top of your mattress is the deep plum shade. Ralph Lauren makes paints with great textures & even metallics. i does no longer paint a mural & my reason is that the decorations for this subject tend to be ornate to start with.

you could paint an accent wall behind couch a burgundy/wine color and the other walls a neutral/ cool color... or to warm up the room add accent pillowsto couch with burgundy and darker tan colors and paint the other walls neutral tan. I prefer warm colors!

Don't paint it, just poly the floors and some waterseal on the bricks. It has to stay natural, don't ruin it.

i'd go with a pale green like olive or somthing. with yellow/honey i think that'd look great! and green always goes good with a light gray!
