i asked this question yesterday and the only woman that answered it criticized my screen name. and she deleted her insult. so, im putting it out there again. all i want is a recipe.

sd yacht club served a finger sandwich that had shredded sharp chedder, mayo, green onions and some other creamy goodness. it is a slice of heaven! does anyone have THE recipe or a similar one. NOT using velveeta or any other cheese 'spread', not a cheese ball, no nuts, exactly what im looking for please! the yacht club chef/staff have no clue what im talking about and the former chef that had the recipe is not working there anymore. help!

I'll see if I can find it. I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about.

Ok, here's something that might help:

Janet's Appetizer

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup minced red onion
1 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese
1 cup crabmeat (optional)
1 teaspoon Dijon-style prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 (1 pound) loaf sliced pumpernickel party bread
lemon pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven's broiler.

In a medium bowl, stir together mayonnaise, onion, cheddar, crabmeat, mustard, and garlic powder.

Arrange bread slices on a cookie sheet. Place 1 tablespoon of the mixture on each slice. Sprinkle the bread slice liberally with lemon pepper spice (this is the key ingredient, so don't be shy with the spice!).

Broil for less than two minutes.

Happy yachting!
