Even after they die? John 5:28,29 says Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. Those who did good things to a resurrection of life those who did vile things to a resurrection of judgement. So what does that mean? Do they get a second chance?

yes the bible speaks of a time when the memorial tombs will be opened it also talks about a ressurection of the righteous and the unrighteous (people who know about God and people who don't)
death is the payment for sin and therefore unless you have sinned directly against God you will get a ressurection

the thing you need to do is find the truth

I think what's important to remember is that everything that exists CANNOT cease to exist. It may stop existing in the form you recognised but the amount of overall matter in the universe cannot decrease in any way. So from this, the physical flesh that is buried or cremated becomes food for the soil and insects but what happens to the soul? I believe that the chemical components or energies that make us aware when we are alive go on to exist in some other way. I'm not talking ghosts here, or reincarnation. I don't even care if the teeny tiny pieces of energy even stay together. What I care about and what I take comfort in is that there never is really any definative ending. Everything goes on to become something else. So yeah, I guess you get a second chance but everytihng that made up YOU becomes part of something else. Remember - we were all made of stars!

Nice name :)

Um, in my beliefs, yes there are things we can do. I believe we can receive baptism by proxy for-and-in-behalf of them, which they will have the option to accept or reject on the other side.

I've understood that people can repent on the other side, but that it's a lot harder than while in life. Like trying to move hardened pottery, versus soft clay. The soft clay you only have to gently nudge with your fingers, hardened pottery has to be smashed, ground to dust, and soaked for a while first. So I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to pray for them.

But that being said, that scripture is about the resurrection, which everyone gets because of the atonement, we will all be saved from physical death, but then we still have to face the spiritual consequences of who we are (for good or ill).

best wishes

There is nothing you can do for anyone after they are gone. The Resurrection of Life is, Christ, this means that those who have excited Christ while go to be with Him in Heaven, the resurrection of judgment is the, Judgment Set, where whose who have rejected Christ will be sent to hell. No Second Chance

The best thing is to accept they no longer exist in any form except your mind and try to keep living a happy life. Praying, Hoping, and other religous nonsense wont help you

They're dead, they no longer exist. They don't need nor desire nor can use any help.
