A sincere thought -- it is actually a reference to a part of the Jewish marriage process. When a Jewish man got engaged, he went away from his fiancee for a year or so to build an extra room to his father's home for them to live in. Her job was to prepare herself for marriage by preparing her wedding dress. When he finished building the room (aka, chamber or mansion in some versions), his father would inspect it, then, at a time of his choosing, tell his son, "go get your bride."

The bride, meanwhile. knowing that the time had arrived but not knowing the exact day nor hour of his approach, would sit in preparation with her bridal party. At night, they would have oil lamps so they could see in case he came at midnight. The bridegroom would eventually come, with his own grooms men accompanying him. When the groom's men approached the bride's house, one of them would shout, "Behold! The bridegroom comes!" Then the bride would jump up along with her maids. The Bridegroom would pick her up and carry her off to the room he had build for them, and the entire wedding party would follow along. (Anyone who wasn't ready at that time got left behind.)

What would follow would be a seven day wedding party in celebration. So in quoting that passage, Jesus was symbolically telling his disciples about the rapture and the wedding supper of the lamb that was to come: "In my father's house there are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, there you may be also." That is why the church is called "The Bride of Christ." There is so much symbolism there in that tradition that tells us about the rapture to come!!

Word of hope and utopia. If Jesus heart is the right one for you then go and good luck. The only thing is that Jesus' heart is not His father's house. The Father is much bigger than Jesus and in His place are many mansions not just rooms.

In New Testament times the father of the son to be married would add unto the existing house for the married couple.

Of course, that passage means that there are many ways to worship, and no one religion is "right" and the others "wrong." Defaming and denigrating the beliefs of others is just so hypocritical.

If Jesus existed, his heart was turned to dust long ago.
