Just be straight forward and honest with them. Realize that they are going to be hurt probably but you have a right to choose who you want to be with in your life and your not responsible for how he feels about it.

I think a good way to break up with some one is first, call that person for a chat, be sincere and explain why you don't love him or her any more. Stop call that person on the phone after the chat.

what i do when i want to break up with some one is i talk to them and tell them how i feel and tell them that i think that we would be better off as friends because i dont see the relationship going anywhere and so i figure we might as well just be friends that way we dont have to worry about cheating on eachother and we can still have fun

50 Ways To Leave Your Lover
The problem is all inside your head
She said to me
The answer is easy if you
Take it logically
I’d like to help you in your struggle
To be free
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
She said it’s really not my habit
To intrude
Furthermore, I hope my meaning
Won’t be lost or misconstrued
But I’ll repeat myself
At the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover
CHORUS:
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don’t need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don’t need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
She said it grieves me so
To see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do
To make you smile again
I said I appreciate that
And would you please explain
About the fifty ways
She said why don’t we both
Just sleep on it tonight
And I believe in the morning
You’ll begin to see the light
And then she kissed me
And I realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways
To leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover
CHORUS

I am not sure that this is a good way to break up with some one but you should make them want to break up with you. Be distusting boyish and moody and then THEY will be the ones that ask to break up.

When I had to break up with my girlfriend, Rachel, I told her that I just didn't like her anymore and that I found a new inspiration, Keera. Sometimes it's best just go straight up and just tell them. good bye friend!!!!!

Just tell them the truth, flat out - don't play games, don't be cruel and make it a clean break. Anything else will come back and haunt you later.
Good Luck!
Aloha!!

Over the phone, while away on a trip or out of town. I know its chicken sh*t, but all break ups are sloppy, avoid the slaughter.

you have to do it in the most mature way.
invite that person to have a calm conversation with you and tell what you feel. seriously, it's the right thing to do.
maybe that person feel a little bad, but he will admire you for your sincerity and courage for telling him what you think.
but after all, ask if you guys can still be friends.

sit down and talk face to face
be gentle and friendly
be honest (unless you're breaking up for a really bad reason e.g. he's got spotty)
tell him you still wanna be friends and FOLLOW THROUGH (contact him soon after)
then hug him and leave it there
good lucK!
