perhaps because you look young and people assume you are a teen mother. Teen mothers seem to get treated unfairly a lot of the time.

What's "wrong" with you is that you had your daughter at an early age. You can't possibly expect people to think it's normal when you're 27 with an 11 year old daughter. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it at all. People make mistakes and end up raising amazing kids. However, you can't get irritated when people assume you're your daughter's sister (especially if you look younger than 27, lol). If people give you attitude, simply stand firm in what you believe. As a young teacher, I'm learning how to do this myself.

ok I have the same problem people who dont know me give me harsh critism. like for example the other day I walked into a restraunt and a lady said "why would anyone leave their kids with a 12 year old?" the server who knew me (but no my age) said thats their mother and shes 23 (i am 25) my dad who was witness to this spoke up and said "no thats their mother and she's 25!" the womans chin almost hit the floor. Now try being a young looking single mother and see the critism their. Just take it as a complement cause when your 40 your gonna look 30? those old bags are probably 40 now looking 60!!! LOL

So I guess you were about 16 years old when you had her. There is nothing wrong with YOU! There is something wrong with all those people who give you dirty looks though, I'll tell you that. I got married when I was 18 and people always give me funny looks when they find out I'm married and are always so shocked. You just live your life happily, let people think what they want.

Way better for them to think you're her sister than to mistake you for her grandmother. Looking young is frustrating until you get to your thirties or forties. Then you'll realize how lucky you are.
As to what other people think, that's their problem if it's a problem at all. Don't be so sensitive to how others see you. After all, you're not an object to be defined or judged. You are the experiencer.

That's funny I have met so many people that go through that. It's because they see that your a young mom with a 11year old and you know many people judge you.But hey look at the bright side you and your daughter are growing up together and its better to be a young mom than a old mom.

You probably just look young to them. I don't think its a personal attack. I was constantly mistaken as the mother of my younger cousin and I was 17 at the time. Plus it isn't any of there business if you had them young or not.

So you had her when you were 16 or 17?? They think that because you were so young (teenager) when you had her.
