It depends mostly from who You were in jail hierarchy and what choices You made there. If You are neutral and fallow the rules (most of You would find them even barbaric) then all the time You are thinking how to rebuild Your life after sentence. In that case adaptation can take from few days to few weeks. If You lost respect then consequences will leave a big "scar" on Your psychic and it will be almost imposible to feel normal again... And if you are continue Your crime life then You will fell normal at all time, doesn't matter if You are in a jail or not. It's still the same environment.
