This is a serious question. No joking. The reason I ask is becuase, my dog absolutely loves to hump our cat. And this isn't just a regular dog humping leg situation, he will actually get his stance and she allows it, like she likes or something. It's honestly a funny thing to witness but I'm just curious on if it could happen. Honestly I think it would be great to have little dogcats runnign around the house. Thank you for your answers.

The reason that a cat and a dog can't mate and produce an offspring is because Cats have 19 pairs of chromosomes, and a dog has 39 pairs. The only time mating can be successful is when the chromosomes match. Exactly the same reason that a fruit fly can't mate with either a dog or a cat, a fruit fly has 8 pairs

Are there dogcats running all over the world?? NO, there are not...don't you think that if this was possible you'd see dogcats EVERYWHERE, and don't you think in the history of mankind that SOMEONE besides you would have thought of this at some point in time? Just use your head....and you won't need an answer to this question.

no this is not possible,I know people who did porno with animals more usally with dogs and horse, and they not get the semen in because dogs have gonorrea and dissease but not because they can have human/animals or human/dogs, not possible: chromosome and cells they are different they dont match so if your dog will be eyaculate your cat, your cat consider that in her body like a virus.....so that will be destroyed and inmposible to get to the end...

LOL - like most people said, no your cat cannot get pregnant from your dog. Although some inter-species breeding can take place (like between dogs and other canids, and between cats and other felids) inter-genus breeding can't (like between a canid and a felid).

diffferent species cannot get each other pregnant, but a dog and a wolf can breed, I don't know if a housecat and a wild cat can breed, but if they did the kittens would probably be sterile. But cats and dogs cannot make babies together, and I guess as long as your cat and dog are not hurting each other it is ok what they are doing, but you might want to think about getting them both fixed, that should calm them down a bit.

That would be pretty cool and I bet you could make some money on dogcats or catdogs, whatever you would call them. Let us know the outcome!
