So that we can show our devotion by jumping up every 5 minutes to open the door for you, O divine one.

Because sometimes I don't want you watching me when I pee. Or I don't want you watching me change in the bedroom. Mostly because if I leave the doors open, you hide, and I don't realize it so when I go out and close the bedroom and bathroom door, you're stuck inside for a few hours until I come home and wonder why you aren't greeting me at the door. Then I open the bathroom door, and there you are. If you didn't insist on knocing stuff off my night table, I'd probably leave my bedroom door open at night. But you wake me up by knocking things off, and I need my sleep. I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop scratching at the bedroom door early in the morning, too. You'd think the stay-away spray we use would be good enough, but nooo.

It's a cat thing. You only want to go that way to make an issue out of the closed door. If it was opened for you, you'd just find something else to moan about.

Because not all of us understand how much cats should be worshipped, treated like gods and allowed to do exactly what they want, and you haven't got us well trained enough to follow you around opening doors for you!

Frantic meowing and scratching at said doors should give your humans the hint! ;)
