there are government based grants that are based on need. first fill out a FAFSA if you haven't done so already, and you will find out if you qualify for them. a good scholarship seach site is www.fastweb.com. there are usually more criteria for the scholarships though, so you might want to check with your school's financial aid office for advice. good luck

If you're in college, your financial aid department should have an entire listing of scholarships based on need, merit, community service, experience, etc. Also, use www.fastweb.com

It's highly unlikely to get a scholarship solely based on need. You must demonstrate that you are academically capable of completing post-secondary level work.
