Follow this logic for a moment. Darwin gave intellectuals a basis to believe in natural, biological creation. Google evolution fact or fiction. The fossil record is a fact. However, no one can prove how "new" genetic code was created. This "how did it happen" part of evolution is purely a hypothesis, even today.

Now why is this a problem? Check your history. In the mid 1800's, Darwin's hypothesis of purely biological creation led to godless political philosophies that have been and are the most oppressive that have ever existed. The Nazi’s were given a scientific justification for ethnic cleansing (Jews), and many nations use this justification today. The godless Marxists eliminate (kill) capitalists and (kill) believers and (kill) anyone else who gets in their way to create a dreary and oppressive society. Open your eyes, would you like to live in Cuba or North Korea, or during Stalin's programs and Mao's revolution. 10's of millions of people suffered and died.

The message of God is to love God with all your heart, and love others as you love yourself. That is a good message.

Here is why this is so important. Philosophically, since God is a creator, he created each of us for a reason. Thus, each of us are unique, and have a god given purpose for life that we need to achieve whether janitor, lawyer, doctor, actor, quarterback, whatever. This totally aligns with the sanctity of human life. Thus, government should protect each of our individual rights and allow each of us to find our destiny. This aligns with a society that believes in a creator and freedom of religion. That is a good thing.

I deeply fear Godless societies. Government should respect the free expression of religion of people and communities. Belief in a creator is vital to the health of a society.

Here is my test for you: when you have a child, just look in their eyes and tell them they are a random quirk of nature and in the grand scheme of nature, their life is meaningless. I dare you. Yet, that is the intellectual dead-end of existence, if we are just random quirks of nature.
If science can get to the point to showing that genetic code cannot be created naturally, not adaption of existing code, then there will be a complete change in philosophy and political philosophy to align with freedom and protection of individual rights.

By the way, how did the brain get programmed for eyesight. To accept 2 images, combine them, to provide near instant assessment and response, millions of lines of unbelievably brilliant genetic code, how did that happen. We could put 1000 genius's to work on this today for 10 years, and they would not be able to figure out how to do that today. Not only is there no randomness, there is unimaginably brilliant creation involved.

It's your choice.

I can't convince you. The Holy Ghost can, if you have an open heart and mind. I would include a link to the Book of Mormon online, but I'll respect your wishes to not send you scripture verses. So I guess that's about all I can say, unless you have some specific questions I can answer.

Perhaps you mean become a Christian?
One is not baptised into a "religion". Baptising is a demonstration that one has died to sin and is born again into eternal life, ie a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Why should you do such a thing?
When one recognises their need for salvation from eternal death and a desire to have eternal life in fellowship with Christ, nothing can prevent one from realising that relationship, except selfishness, demanding to have ones own right to be their own god. Surrender your right to yourself and gain life.

He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot loose.

So you see friend, you ought not, unless you desire life in eternal fellowship with God in Christ Jesus. And when you desire it, it will be because God has drawn you to Himself, not because someone convinced you to be baptised into a religion.

Good question, hope you get some worthwhile answers.

Because you will always have God on your side no matter what problems you have in life.. He will never leave you. He will always defend you, and he will always love you.

He will be the ultimate power in your life. he will put people in your path thath will help you, or you can help them. Your life will always be blessed in some way regardless if you are rich or poor.

He will strengthen you when you are down, and help keep you standing when you are feeling weak. He will get revenge for you when you are wronged.

Having God in your life is a plus. All you and I have to do is ask and all that power and protection will come in and grace our lives.

I believe in God and Jesus, but my own selfish part of myself somehow thinks I can still play this game of life and win. This part of myself is stupid and will only lead me to ruin. If I were today to turn my will and my life over to Jesus and let him into my heart, I have no doubt, none at all that God would turn my life around and do what I could never do and that is create a life with love and balance.

I know a few people who believes in God with all of their hearts and the one thing that they ALL have in common is that they have balance in their lives. They have love, and they are very peaceful, kind giving people. I want what they have. I want peace, love and balance. I want something that I have not experienced in years, I want joy.

So this is why you should consider establising a relationship with Jesus and getting baptized.

No.

Religion is not a belief, it is a language. It is the use of symbol to create an argument for how to live in the world. I am a Christian because I am good at using Christian symbols. If you are better at using the symbols of another religion, use them. If you are better at using the symbols Christianity, use them. There can be (and should be) no convincing.

our "religion" is a relationship with God and His Son Jesus...religion is something you "do", faith is a belief...
i'd have to say way too many "christians" have virtually no relationship with God and do not live according to His Word....i have fallen short in most areas of my life.....i feel this is a journey and the older i get, the more i see how i have lived for myself instead of for Him....but my aim is to keep asking for forgiveness and allow Him to change me to be more like Jesus. many "churches" are over rated...been there, done that....too many that think they are "all that", but if they are, where is the power that God spoke of that we are to be walking in? why is your congregation content to meet once or twice a week and let the rest of the world go to hell?
i heard that the average christian hears thousands of sermons and sings thousands of songs in their lifetime, and leads NO ONE to the Lord! what is that???
i believe American christians have been lulled to sleep and it's time to wake up....it's time to admit that we aren't perfect, don't know all the answers, fall prey to sin more often than overcome it, and well, REPENT and keep getting up and running toward the only ONE who can help us!

i've seen some promising things though. He's always got a remnant, who have decided to go all out for Him and His glory....

check out fireonthealtar.com listen for yourself and then you decide.........

this is a huge decision on your part.......but don't take other's opinions........................
get alone and quiet often and listen for Him.......He'll lead you to Him.........the New Testament will help if you read a version you can understand..........

simplicity and quietness and humility will lead you to TRUTH....

peace

- Religion isn't what you want to be fully emersed in, the Word of God is what you should emerse yourself in. You don't want Bible verses, but you cannot hope to have the understang you want if you do not read them, hear them, or strive to understand them.

- All the convincing you need is all around you & in the Bible.

- Test the Scriptures in your life, then dicide.

2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

ROMANS 1:20-22 -----------------------------------------------

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools
