It seems that a lot of us rate a kid's age in months until they reach 23 mos. Suddenly we go straight to fractions; the kid is 2., 2 and a half. Before you know it; the fractions are gone. Then, when we hit middle age, you guessed it; we shoot right to decades; Yeah, he's in his upper 40's (Yeah, I know, lower 40's mid 40's etc,) Oh, my little angel is 13 months old, and she can beat Daddy at racquetball.) Does anyone out there say "My little darling is 1"? Please, I am losing sleep over this. Rat

I always found this to be mind boggling. After 1 year, I never understood why people kept refering to children in months. I even had a woman tell me once that her daughter was 33 months old! Why can't they just say "almost 3"? Thankfully my Mom doesnt go around saying I'm 276 months old now. :D

I refer to people by their ages if they are known to me. Otherwise I may use a generalization like "She's in her mid fourties". But aging doesn't bother me like it appears to bother the rest of our nation. (Admit it - we are a bunch of age-a-phobes!) Try not to loose sleep - - it might make you look months older! :P

My oldest daughter goes as far as letting us know she is 7 and 1 quarter years old! I think its funny (and annoying) at the same time. I always did this same way at first.

I went by months up until my son turned two. (I taught him to say he was one so he could answer sometimes too. It was a little difficult to get him to switch to saying two after his birthday though.)
