Come on now. There's always some poor idiot stuck with playing the bassoon. The thing is gigantic and looks like a bazooka. Like that kid is going to have girls hanging alll over him anyway. Do you have to assign him the stupidest instrument ever? Like they couldn't have made it any smaller? I'll bet a lot of people from Delaware love the bassoon.

NO!!!!! The bassoon is one of the most complicated instruments and it can be extremely difficult. In fact, most colleges and universities, when giving music scholarships, put bassoon, along with oboe and french horn on the top of the list. As to your friend, it's his decision whether or not to play the instrument, so I don't know why he's upset. If he wants to play an instrument, switch!!! If he wants to quit, that's his decision but I highly suggest that he stick with it.

You will have to be proud you'll be able to play the bassoon it is without doubt one of the toughest devices to play if now not the toughest, and who care if folks hate you for the reason that you play bassoon that simply suggests you that even supposing you stop gambling bassoon and end up peers with them you'll become having a dull small little battle and become being enemies in much less then per week. Trust me I recognize what your going via I play flute, oboe, violin, guitar, bass, and ukulele, you play one software I play six and it actually takes up all of my lifestyles besides for tuition and I best have one buddy however I've discovered to receive that I'm a social outcast that every body hates, If you'll be able to't receive that then simply stop on bassoon and spot how a long way the ones false peers gets you. I'm best in seventh grade and I'm dealing with all that and I used to be dealing with all that during sixth grade to. I'm definite you'll be able to manage one software.

I am completely offended by that question!! My family is a family of bassoon players and most people in this world know what an amazing instrument it is...you can only get that exact sound with a double reeded instrument...try getting that sound with a guitar or drums. I don't know what you are talking about hinting that bassoon players don't get the ladies...I'm arms deep in poon every night...freaky band chicks are where it's at...

Well, what do you play? Oboe?

C'mon...life isn't about how others feel about an instrument you happen to play. Those girls aren't worth a bassoonist's time...not even worth a shredding electric guitarist'st time, IMO.

It does look funny. It can sound funny. Funny is good. Tubas are also gigantic and look like armaments...try kettle drums (timpani) too.

I'm a clarinetist myself...

I love the sound of the basoon! It is very difficult to play and I admire anyone who can play it well. The basoonist in our orchestra is a female. Most of us are volunteers, but when we need a basoon, she gets paid very well!
If your friend continues to play the basoon, in a few years he will get the women because he will be making good money and women appreciate a man who can take good care of them!
