Good fight Brent F. I rank Foster as the 2nd greatest Lgt Heavy behingd Archie Moore. Thomas "The Hit Man Hearns" had great power but so did Foster who I had the pleasure of seeing fight several times. I believe that for a few rounds this fight would be a good boxing match dominated by jabs. In about the 9th round Foster catches Hearns with a devastating right cross and sends Hearns to the canvas for the count.

I do not think this fight would be much of a contest. I also rank Bob Foster very high as an all time great lightheavy. He had devestating punching power, accumulating 46 KOs during his career. He also never lost a fight to a lightheavyweight, all of his losses came against heavyweights. This, compounded with a fairly weak chin on Hearns would allow Foster to garner a victory over Hearns by a 5th round KO.

At Lt. Heavyweight Foster massacres Tommy, the only good part
of this scenario is that it has the potential to be another Hagler-Hearns type fight. Total action until the Hitman crumbles.

Hearns - W 61 (KO's 48) TF 67 - W pct 91% - KO pct 72% - wins over Benitez, Duran, V. Hill and Cuevas - KO'ed by Leonard, Hagler and Barkley - #18 ranked puncher - #67 ranked fighter
Much better boxer than given credit for
Lack of stamina and possibly a weak chin did cost him a better/lower ranking as an all-time great fighter
Foster - W 56 (KO's 46) TF 65 - W pct 86% - KO pct 72% - wins over D. Tiger, V. Rondon and M. Quarry - KO'ed by Frazier and Ali (most of his KO defeats were by Hwy wts, except 2 at the end of his career when he was 40 yrs old) - #17 ranked puncher - #55 ranked fighter
As great of a fighter as Hearns was we have Foster by a KO inside of 5 rds.
