As every attendee entered the buffet line, the videographer asked him or her a question and taped the answer. In essence, the bride and groom received a personal wish or thought on tape from everyone who attended.
One wedding party had more groomsmen than bridesmaids. They worked it out beautifully, and I wish I had done that. For some reason, I thought it had to be symmetrical.
And, I recently attended a wedding that was the second for the bride. Her first husband died several years ago, but she maintained a relationship with his parents. Her own father was gone, so she asked her former father-in-law to give her away, and she seated her former in-laws as if they were her parents. It was a very thoughtful way to include them, and continue a relationship with the grandparents of her children.

Although I am a die-hard Alabama football fan, I attended a wedding where they had an Auburn ice sculpture & it was so awesome. It might be tacky to some people, but in the south football is a part of life, so I loved it!!!

At my fiance's niece's wedding, the grooms mother made: The wedding gown, the groom's tux, the flowergirl dress, and ALL the bridesmaids dresses! Every dress was made according to the shape of the girl. All different, but the same color. EVERYTHING was absolutely beautiful.
That isn't unusual in an odd way, but how many weddings have you been to where the groom's mother does all that?

At my cousins wedding the cake was in the shape of a star if you looked at it from above. It was pretty cool, I had never seen anything like it before.

At my brother's wedding everyone wore pink bracelets or ribbons around their wrists (even the guys) because the bride was a cancer survivor. Not really that unusual, but it was cool that everyone did it.

At my wedding we did a dance were all the married couples got on the dance floor. the Dj then said anyone married under one year get off the dance floor. Then he did five, ten fifteen, twenty, so on and so on. My hubby's grandparents were the couple married the longest. We gave them a small gift and danced with them for good luck. His grandfather is no longer alive, and I cry every time I see that dance on our video. It was such a nice memory to make with them. I don't regret it one bit.

A magician that mingled during the coctail hour. It really helped the time to go by and to get people to socialize with each other.

I saw a groom who had girls as part of his wedding party. They wore black dresses to match the groom's men. I think they were his cousins or sisters, but they stood next to him instead of standing next to the bride.
