It's not unusual for unspayed female dogs to have false pregnancies. The only way to be absolutely certain that it's a false one, of course, is to take her to your vet and have her tested.

False pregnancies often look like the real thing: enlarged teats, swollen belly, "morning sickness"... But there are some dogs that look like this when they're in heat. We had a pit bull at our shelter who would look positively pregnant when she was in season.

The best way to stop the symptoms is to have the dog spayed.

a vet can tell you if it is a falce pregnancy, it is very common in dogs to have a false pregnancy.
You have to watch her, because she can produce even milk and if you do not dry the milk she can get an infection.
Better get her neutered.
This way she will not have a problem and she will be much healthier.

Dogs going through a false pregnancy will exhibit the signs of real pregnancy - moody, tired, reclusive. They tend to gather up items and protect them. Often they even gain weight and produce milk.

one of my dogs did all the time. unfortionitly, i was only 2 when we had her, so i dont know what it was like, i just know from stories that she used to steal all the bathroom rugs and make a nest and act like my mom's fuzzy slippers were pups. she also had a stroke and had to be put to sleep but thats another story... maybe there was something wrong with that dog. it was a purebred afgan hound.
