I just found out today that my 7 year old daughter has scarlet fever. I am waiting for her prescription to be ready for pick up and am just wondering if there is anybody who has had to deal with this and if there is anything I can do to help her feel more comfortable. Any help would be appreciated.

My son had it and he was fine afterwards, even has a child now.

Just follow your doctors instructions, give her the meds as instructed and try to make her feel better, just like you would do any other time.

At 7 she will be able to let you know verbally so you wont have to guess. If she is uncomfortable, try to help her find a comfortable position. If her mouth is sore, offer something soothing if it is compatible with her meds.

Lastly talk with your pharmacist and doctor for a more professional opinion.

Good Luck Hope she feels better soon.!!

I have never had to deal with this, but you are in my prayers. I have a niece that had that when she was little and her fever got so high that it did something to her eggs. She had several miscarriages and has had 2 live births. The first baby died from a rare illness at around 7 months, though he was never healthy. The second baby has downs. I don't know if there is a way to test the eggs. And maybe that is just a coincidence. But try and watch her fever. God bless you.
