My tastebuds on the back of my tongue are really swollen and sore and I need to know how to make the swelling go down. Any suggestions?

How long have they been swollen? Usually they will heal in a couple of days by themselves. I get them on the side of my tongue. The tongue is one of the fastest healing muscles, which I learned when my nephew had to have the underside of his tongue snipped because he was what we used to call tongue tied. It healed very quickly

It usually happens after you've been sick. Although it can happen when you have too much refined sugar too. They say L-Lysine (amino acid) can help. They usually just go away on their own if you eat better.
