Have i downloaded the right anti-virus..its Avast v.4.7 home edition and if it is how do you do a full system scan...i haven`t got a clue what i am doing.

This software is good, doesn't take much system resources and is free! To do a scan simply, right click and scan now.

Avast is loads better than AVG. Its not as friendly but don't let that put you off.
Have you installed it yet? Because when you do, it does a full scan for you.
After that, you'll have an icon on the bottom right hand side of your taskbar, you right click on that and select 'Start Avast'.
A help screen comes up when you use it, and when you hover your mouse over the icons it tells you what they are.
Or you can right click on the taskbar icon and select 'Start Avast'.

You can also download files to the desktop, or open any file, right click on it and select 'scan with avast' to check them.

If you haven't a clue why are you trying to load vital progs like this yourself ? Find someone with a brain to help. Alternatively they are bound to have a FAQ an the website these are usually good sources for learning about the product what it can do for you and how best to install and operate plus any known problems with same.

right click on avast icon(bottom right, of your screen) go to start avast anti virus centre, let it do memory scan if you need too..............after you done that a box will come up that looks like a radio, click on icon that says local disks when you hover on it then click on play icon, on the left hand side of box. hope this helps

avast is not user friendly and can conflict with some firewalls uninstall and use avg( free)

Well, I never heard of it but if you go to your nearest electronic computer store, ask for Norton Anti-Virus.

the best is avg and you can download it via the internet nd pay for it using paypal. and it works!
