I suppose there is a point to this. Is it anything like when the Spanish came in and overthrew the Aztecs and ruled their economy?

Ahhh I remember it as if it was yesterday.....
http://www.azteca.net/aztec/guadhida.html
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed by the United States and Mexico on February 2, 1848, ending the Mexican War and extending the boundaries of the United States by over 525,000 square miles. In addition to establishing the Rio Grande as the border between the two countries, the territory acquired by the U.S. included what will become the states of Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, most of New Mexico and Arizona, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming. In exchange Mexico received fifteen million dollars in compensation for the territory and the U.S. agreed to assume claims from private citizens of these areas against the Mexican government.
Mexico started the war,not the US,they lost and this was the treaty.

They started the war by refusing to recognize the Rio Grande as the true border with Texas (check out the river they used, the Nueces--it doesn't provide a well defined border the way the Rio Grande does. Then, they lost the war, and in the negotiations, ceded some territory and sold some more, for a good price. The terms could have been a lot harsher. Mexico needs to use its vast resources to create jobs and wealth, instead of exporting its poor as illegal aliens. It has the potential to be good county, instead of the shi*hole it is.

Um, are you implying that we should ignore history and the US become a colony of Great Britain again? Aw heck maybe while we are at it declare the president of Italy emperor of the New Roman Empire?
OR are you implying that Mexico needs to get it's act together. Why should America lower it's standards and sink to the levels of other countries when in fact other countries should be striving to be like us and help their people prosper in their native land?

NO I don't remember but there is plenty of documents to tell us about it why do you get some education so you can learn it.
You will learn that US tried to take this land way before the war and also that they fixed and placed most of the people so they could take this land, the whole thing was premeditated and that should be illegal and if is not then we should put Iraq back to Kuwait.

And once we took the podunk rundown Mexican feudal estates, Americans made it into something great.
So if it is just the land, why is there nothing but crap from the Rio Grande to Tierra del Fuego?
