Starving is slow suicide! You will lose weight on your way to the grave! You will become a very sad person. If you eat and then throw up you will not lose weight. ESPECIALLY if you are binging and them vomiting. Your body still has time to digest some of what you eat- most bulimics are not super thing- most are average or overweight- also, if you are vomiting alot, your face looks chubbier and you get really bad acne. Yuck, that's not cute. Don't play games with your body. Put good food into your body and you will live a long happy life. PLEASE! Don' "just wonder" about this anymore. Take it from me. I have ruined half my life acting in these ways. If you don't feel strong enough to NOT starve and NOT throw up your food- please get help from a counselor- you are avoiding the real issues in your life and turning them into a game with food. Figure out what's really bothering you.........are you mad? Sad? You may think you feel this way because you want to eat or because you don't look thin enough- but trust me, you are mad or sad about something else and you need to deal with it now so you can go on living a complete life. Please, I beg you.

Eating food and then throwing it up does not work because your body has already absorbed the calories from the food. If you're going to throw it up, why eat it in the first place? If you find yourself binging, then this is another problem to consider. Starving yourself is harmful because your stomach shrinks, your body may become dehydrated, and your system takes a blow. If you contiue patterns of it, you'll lose tons of hair, always feel freezing cold, and you may possibly be at risk for binge eating when you decide to eat. don't use these methods to lose weight they lead to other problems you don't even want to think about like infertility, hair loss, organs shutting down

The reason that you loose weight when you throw the food up is because your body has to get the vitimans from the food this only takes about 25-20 min. However this is very unsafe! Keep in mind the only thing that wants a bone is a dog and he burries it.lol. Alot of us guys love a healthy woman!!!

alright, everyone has filled this thread with such horrible misconceptions on eating disorders.
not eating for a few days means nothing .. you have to burn 3500 calories to lose one lb. so you might lose one pound after 2-3 days of not eating.
Yes, if you 'starve' (you cannot go with out food.. but you can eat very little so your body goes into 'starvation mode') you WILL lose weight, theres no doubt about that.
also, no your body does NOT absorb the calories immediately after you eat. it takes time.. if you were eat something and then throw everything you ate up 10,20, maybe 30 minutes later.. you would also lose weight.
while these ways of disordered eating aren't healthy, you cannot deny that they are effective.

Yes, you do start to lose weight, but it's muscle not fat that you lose! Then when you start eating again, you will gain it all back plus some. And if you don't start eating you will die.
Throwing up is a horrible weight loss plan, you will RUIN your teeth from the stomach acid, believe me , I know!

Starving yourself is just going to lead to health problems. The only sensible way to lose weight is by diet (not starvation) and excercise. This is assuming you do have weight to lose.

that's not true. you will lose weight. depending on how heavy you are when you start, you could die long before you ended up skinny. you will eventually die. a lot of times it's from complications brought on by starvation; like organ failure. anorexia isn't pretty at all. you're hair will eventually fall out in clumps, you become extremely fatigued. bullimia isn't pretty either. that's very dangerous also. people with bullimia (after a while) lose the enamel on their teeth and have mouth sores and problems from the stomach acid. congestive heart failure, liver and kidney damage...it's serious stuff.

It will kill you! Remember Terri Schiavo? (Not Sure on Spelling) She had a flippin heart attack because her friends say that's what she did. She ate then barfed dude that's not good. If you starve yourself you could go into a diabetic seizure Or coma due to lack of sugar to the blood. Whether or not you are diabetic.
