On what street do you watch the Macys Thanksgiving parade, and when do you line up?

My daughter is dancing at Hearlds square for the opening number, but there is limited access so where do I have to go to get place to watch the parade.

right on 34 st in front of macy's

Herald Square is between 33rd and 36th street where Broadway and 6th Avenue cross. I think they dance right between 34th and 35th street. It is going to be hard to see it I'm sure. I would try to get on that that street though, like 6th Avenue and 35th Street. Good luck!
