Unfortunatly, my daughter isn't that active, but she knows that she shouldn't really diet. I have never encoraged her to diet, but I have tried to motivate her into being more active. I'm not much help though, because I do not get that much time to be active and exercise regulary either.

I was the same heighth at 12- hey, and I'm the same today at 28! Hopefully she will grow, unlike I did. When I was that age I weighed about 120 and I was normal. I have a large bone structure and muscular build. Since then I've gone between 115 and 150. 150 is way too heavy- 130 to 140 is even a bit heavy for me. I prefer to be around 120 and feel most healthy there. If she is tiny boned, she could even be as light as 105. I hope that she's not too worried about her weight- there's so much more for kids to spend mental energy on! Do not pressure her into losing weight if she is heavy- like my mom did! Encourage her to be active and keep healthy foods in the house- let her know how beautiful she is and that her real beauty shines from the inside- what more can you do? Whoever said 80 - 90 pounds is WAY off- if she was that light, she would need to be hospitalized with an eating disorder!

The average weight of a 12 year old girl is between 40 kg to 55 kg. If you are above average do not worry because all people have a different frame, that is why we come in different shapes and sizes! Do not diet because in my personal opion it is unhealthy for a person that age, but there is no harm in trying healthy foods. Love your body for what it is and don't ever change!

The ideal weight for an adult of this height is between 95-116 depending on frame but she is so young and will continue to grow and probably loose some weight in high school, so unless she is extreamly obese then I would tell her not to worry and also encourage healthy eating and excercise. Never encourage dieting when they are this old this will lead to life long fad diets and low self confidence.

she will grow out of it. if it makes her feel any better why don't you work out with her at home. thats what i am doing with my daughter 3 days a week I coach her. she does 15 minutes of streathing, 15 minutes of upper body aerobics, and 25 mintues on the treadmill. she loves it. my daughter needs physical activity as I was going to sign up up for tai kwando but since she has piano , and she's in band playing the flute and she is in the gifted class....there is not much time. so this is working out great. kids really need physical activity.

I would not tell her how much she should weigh at 12. just get her enrolled in some activity that is physical..how about tai kwando? I am planning to sign up my child who will be 11 in the summer time.

She should weigh between 7-8 stone. But remember she is still very young. She can't be far into puberty and she's got at least 5 more years of it left!
Why don't you both go out and exercise together, I know it's hard to drag yourself of the sofa after a hard day, but if you're doing it with her then maybe it will help.
Good Luck xxx

Between 7 stone and 8 1/2 stone would be good for her age and height. But even up to 9 stone would be acceptable, as long as she doesn't gain anymore. HTH : )

She could detect a interest that she unearths exciting. Or if she would not favor to hitch a crew for even with reason, you and your acquaintances might want to paintings at the same time on it (racing, motorcycle driving, swimming). in case you all are doing some thing lively and troublesome like the different day, you could all have relaxing and it received't even look like exercising.

Sorry, not sure about ratios, but if she feels she's overweight, I recommend telling her to do more sports/activities rather than dieting.
