that is just Jesus comforting you and leting you know that He is listening. i know that i have never actually heard Him speak to me in words but i know that He is listening to me when i pray because i feel like someone is hugging me. it's hard to explain.

I guess the explaination is endorphins and dopamine. These are chemicals released into your brain at moments of happiness, revelation, and pleasure. Drugs give you a short-cut, but often mess up the production and reception process, changing the way you physically feel emotions.
I guess the faithless might use such an explaination to discount the influence of God, but understanding the process makes it more miraculous in my opinion. Happiness through prayer is as real as any other happiness you experience. Religions more spiritually based than most church's versions of Christianity (i.e. Bhuddism) feel and seek these feelings as a major part of their religious experience. While Christian churches may shy away from the spiritual, there is a lot of spirituality in the teachings of Christ, and you have discovered a bit of how the Spirit can make you feel.
