a question about trying too hard?

guys, at what point is a girl trying too hard to get your affection?
do you like it if a girl takes a lot of iniative in the reationship or does it usually seem desperate? what about coming on too strong?
any thoughts/opinions?

It really all depends on the person, the situation, the setting and the guy himself.

Some guys like desperate women. It makes them feel strong and desired. They mistake the fact that the woman is just dying for human emotional or physical contact for true adoration of themselves. But hey, whatever works. There's no real harm in that situation because both people will wind up getting what they want.

Sometimes, however, it does just come off as desperate and undesirable. The first thought that may occur is "Well, what's wrong with this girl if she's acting so desperate. She seems attractive enough, but yet has no male companion...what is the malfunction?". As cruel as that sounds, that thought DOES go on in the male mind. It's Genetic. We're programmed on the genetic level to seek out the strongest, most reliable, most adaptable mate we can find to procreate with. If a woman is acting desperate it may key the male mind into the thoughts of "there must be something wrong with her if a more dominant male has not already snagged her."

But, for the most part, the bottom line is that the majority of men like to be come on to, and strong. THE ONLY THING that most men want on the MOST BASE LEVEL is simply this:
To be feared by other men and adored by women.
Most men mistake desperation for Adoration.

My final advice is this : if you want a meaningful, lasting relationship desperation is not the key. Self-confidence (not to be confused with egotism) is one of the most attractive things to anyone in the entire human race. Be confident. Be open be warm, but temper all that with caution and reason. Don't forget, this is also true: Men want what they can't have. HOWEVER, we won't chase anything forever. We'll put up some effort, but if it seems like it's too far out of reach most men will quit in search of more easily captured prey.

If she makes me think she's psycho, then she's trying too hard. Also, if I don't like her, then her efforts will always be annoying. But if I like her, then it's difficult for her to try too hard unless she tries WAY too hard. Now guys on the other hand, they're usually given to trying too hard. That is a major problem among men, because men do it and women really hate it. Have a nice day!

I don't think it's good for either person to be 90% of the effort. If you feel you have to make all the moves, maybe you just really need to find a guy who is more into the one you have to do all the work for.

i wouldnt mind a woman cuming on to me at times would make me feel like she really wants me but there are times i like to take the lead
