This use to happen to me. I would sweat a little on my nose and my tounge and mouth would go completely numb. I have since built up a tolerance to most hot foods (mexican mostly), mostly my tounge gets a little numb now and again. Sometimes i eat that hot thai mustard and then my nose runs a little bit!!! You can reduce or calm the pain by drinking milk, eating bread, or eating plain yougurt. the Bases neutralize the acidic content of the chile. I love hot salsa, you should post the reciepe as a comment/reply/response!

If I eat something to spicy or eat to much of it I get the hick-ups. Then I know it is time to stop eating the spicy food.

It sure does, when the food is at a Chinese or Mexican resturant.
Seldom at home, though. The way my brother and I see it, it means that the food is good.
