.. did the human race multiply without in-breeding? What did Adam think of this? What were the next children called?

Just curious - not religious.

People are ignorant of the basic facts of our human beginnings. Adam and Eve the original human pair were created directly by god. firstly Adam and then when he had been alone for an unspecified amount of time god had a 'deep sleep' upon adam and created Eve. These he himself joined together in the first human union. They entered into a holy matrimony and became 'one flesh'. Adam lived to be hundreds of years old and he ahd many children with Eve , ( it is safe to assume as God had given them this commision in Genesis 1 v27 ' become many and fill the earth exercise dominion over it )
The tragic story of Cain and Able tells the sad tale of how the first ever murder came to be and this at a time when there was only one family on the earth!! An event as important as this was highlighted but we are told in the bible that Cain took one of j
his sisters for a wife, and that Seth was born in place of Able. however many the final number of adam of eve's children was not revealed .
But to try to shed a little more light on your thought. yes today is unlawful and dangerous in a genetic way to take such a course of action. Our first parents Adam and Eve were created Perfect. unfortunately they had had no children before choosing a disobedient course of action contrary to god's will. their children however were as close to being perfect as we would get , although they inherited the death sentence that Adam and Eve had received.hence the need for a Saviour to buy back what Adam had lost . i.e. a perfect human life to bring balance to the force.
The Israelites centuries later after being delivered out of Egypt were given laws to live by from god through his spokesman Moses. These laws included instructiond regarding the legality of marraige respecting family members and at that time God gave the laws which still pretty much set the standard for today. for Cain and the rest of his brothers the only women that they would have had available to select as a wife would be from among their sisters. this was apparently acceptable in god's sight. it is logical. they were close to being perfect genetically and they also would be adhering to god's standard of one man , one woman , together as one flesh. so it seems strange to us. however , i find a lot of people think that they are very clever when they say well where did Cain get his wife from then ? as if i am supposed to find that so shattering to my whole beliefs that i have no answer. the bible itself answers the question . he took one of his sisters. he was marked so that anyone 'in the future' crossing his path would be able to know it was Cain and not to seek vengeance for Cain's previous crime.

The story of Adam and Eve is the story of the beginning of the Jewish people.
There is a direct lineage from Adam to David (40 generations) and from David to Jesus (40 generations). The Old Testament is one giant family tree narrating the trials and tribulations of the Jews.
There were other people in the world. When Cain was thrown out, he was branded so anyone who saw him would know what he had done. (He was sent to the land of Nod).
When people read the creation story and they read about animals, plants, fishes and birds, nobody thinks there were only two of each species. Why do people think that Adam and Eve were the only two humans simply because they were the only two mentioned by name?

Gen. 4:16 So Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Nowhere does it say that God didn't create other people. Cain went to Nod where other people were. Thus the beginnings of diverse humanity from Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve had more children besides just Cain and Abel. Those are just the two that everyone knows about because it is a popular Bible story.

Cain killed Abel and was obviously not a son to father the human race through, so God gave Adam another son, Seth. Where did Seth and Cain get their wives from? The Bible says Adam "begat sons and daughters", so there's your answer, though you are right about the inbreeding. Cain's son was Enoch, and Seth's son was Enos; but presumably all Cain's descendents were swept away in the Great Flood.

To accept the creation story in the bible, you must be religious!

There (sort of) was an Eve, and she lived in Africa somewhere, not in Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates (the supposed location of Eden) about 150,000 yrs ago, not 6,000 years ago.

An excerpt:
Imagine a family tree of all humans living today. Now imagine a line from each individual to their mother, and continue those lines from each of those mothers to their mothers, and so on. Going back through time their mitochondrial lineages will converge. The further back in time one goes, the fewer mitochondrial ancestors of living humans there will be until only one is left — this is the latest common matrilineal ancestor of all humans alive today, i.e. Mitochondrial Eve.

Now, going in the opposite direction of the family tree (from ancient times to today), imagine the same line, which now connects mothers to their daughters. Starting with the entire human population alive at some time in the past, lineages will become extinct as women die childless or only have male children. Eventually, only a single lineage remains, which is the same as before.

Mitochondrial Eve is the most recent common matrilineal (female-lineage) ancestor for mtDNA, not the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of all humans. The MRCA's offspring have led to all living humans, but Mitochondrial Eve must be traced only through female lineages, so she is estimated to have lived much longer ago than the MRCA. While Mitochondrial Eve is thought to have been living around 150,000 years ago, the MRCA is estimated to have been living only 10,000 plus years ago.

Genesis says Adam was the first man created and Eve was the first woman. It does not say they were the only ones. As a matter of fact, the Bible says that after Cain was confronted by God for murdering his brother, God drives him out of his own land and sends him to wander the earth. Cain says "whoever finds me will kill me". That sounds to me like there are other people in other places.

More to the point. How did Cain and Abel manage to have any children at all unless they both slept with thier mother, Eve.

Adam could have been mankind, Eve womankind. Cain and Abel may have been from different tribes or countries and had a good ruck.

Gen. 5:3, 4: “Adam lived on for a hundred and thirty years. Then he became father to a son in his likeness, in his image, and called his name Seth. And the days of Adam after his fathering Seth came to be eight hundred years. Meanwhile he became father to sons and daughters.” (One of Adam’s sons was Cain, and one of Adam’s daughters must have become Cain’s wife. At that time in human history when humans still had outstanding physical health and vitality, as indicated by the length of their lives, the likelihood of passing on defects as a result of marrying a close relative was not great. After some 2,500 years of human history, however, when mankind’s physical condition had greatly deteriorated, Jehovah gave to Israel laws forbidding incest.)

I think just because Adam and Eve are the only ones mentioned in the creation story, it doesn't mean God didn't create other people. Not every person in biblical times was written about.
