In today's society a sweep train is becoming very popular. Most couples are having destination weddings and for those weddings most brides choose to wear dresses with sweep train's. But for weddings style really doesn't matter, what does matter is what the bride and groom want. If you are having a beach wedding then I would recommend it so you don't have sand all over the dress (especially if you are going to wear it to a reception after the beach ceremony, if not then who cares about it getting dirty you only wear it once right?)

You should be comfortable in your dress, if you are comfortable with a sweep train whether you are having a destination wedding or a large church wedding then I say go for it!!

If you mean is it in style, then, yes. Many designers are doing dresses with a shorter train, particularly the more beachy ones because no one wants to drag their train through a bunch of sand! I ended up with a gown that has a chapel length train, but I love the sweep trains.

ok, people, "a la mode" in english is used to refer to ice cream, but it actually, literally translates into "in style". so she was correct in asking if it was "a la mode" or "in style".

really, a long or short train is just a personal preference. it would help to know what country/region you live in. Different places have different styles.
congrats!

a la mode also means fashionable or stylish.

I think sweep trains are beautiful. It is a man and woman's special day, when they become one, they should wear what their heart desires.

I thought a la mode meant, "with ice cream." That's totally up to you.
