they can still dig tunnels. I still feel its futile, I was watching a report on tv where it showed once they discover one and conceal it the smugglers have already built 3 more. So what good does throwing billions into a penetrable wall does to curve illegal immigration.

Kickalien, learn to speak proper English, go back to your country illegal, and worry about your own immigration problem before you flap your gums on here again.

I am in agreement with many that we must control our borders. It is a national security issue and the drug lords freely pass drugs into the United States. Okay but we have problems on both sides of the "fence". The "fence" will not stop the corruption of US Officials who allow these drugs to be passed. These same officials will have a key to open that "border fence" to admit the drug lords but will not permit the passage of the poor illegal immigrant that came to clean up your buildings instead of blowing them up. Why do so many drugs come into the United States? The answer supply and demand. We need these illegal immigrants to work the jobs that our so drug addicted nation will not fill. WE NEED COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM. We do not need to repair the damaged levy by placing our finger in the hole. We need to repair the entire levy. DON'T let these politicians keep you ignorant....This whole smoke screen/border fence is just a ploy to get them reelected. These same politicians know that we need this "illegal" work force just as much as they need us.....Think.....if it were not true would it have taken them so long to do something about it. NO it wouldn't have. The 911 incident caused us all to think....but did the illegal alien mastermind that event. No, he didn't so why treat him or her as if they did do it. STOP RACISM. HUG AN ILLEGAL ALIEN TODAY
Who cares build the fence. The American public has clamored that they wish for this atrocity to be built. Then once all those billions of dollars are sunk into the building of this shameful wall......there will be no money for mass deportations...You seed this is why the government is building this wall... We all know that it will not serve the purpose for which it is built....They didn't even build a levy that could protect New Orleans..... the illegals crossing are just as unpredictable.....Build the fence so they will be able to say later well we don't have the money now for deportations.......Also you will see discounts on ladders on the other side of the border. You just need a ladder to safely scale the wall without a scratch.

Part of the law that was passed to build the border wall/fence addressed the act of digging tunnels. The virtual part of the fence has sensors and equipment to ascertain where tunnels are and help the Border Patrols
locate them with pinpoint accuracy,so they can be destroyed.
I hear people using the "human rights"arguement as to the rights one has, please read the following,it may clear that part up
The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights states in Article 13, line 2:
"Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country."
Article 13 does not provide the right for any global citizen to illegally enter any host nation they so choose.
Yet human rights and morality advocates vociferously claim such a right, obviously without justification as such a right is not provided in the widely accepted human rights declaration.

Most of illegals cross through the existing fence already or pay money to some of the dishonest INS agents.
Only drug smugglers build tunnels do not confuse them with people that come here to work

Building a wall makes somebody in Washington feel good. And that's about all it does. It also soothes the psyches of a few 'patriots' who are prepared to run along the border and play vigilante. But in fact, building a wall has never worked and will never work. You have pointed out one good reason -- it's easy to tunnel under a wall. Or fly over it. Or sail around it. The Berlin was was a great example of another colossal failure. The Great Wall of China was built on a similar premise, and it didn't work either. But, hey, Georgie isn't going to let a little thing like common sense spoil his fun. It may be the only tangible reminder of his term in office.

It's called a psychological ploy. Political sleight of hand. Because we all know a FENCE isn't going to stop anyone from getting in here. People will use hand gliders, hot-air balloons, tunnels, catapults....
Imagine, with the millions of dollars the government plans on using to allay the fears they helped create in us, they could easily create Mexican-only towns where all the frightened white people would never have to lay eyes on the people who work so hard for them.

Right now there are thousands of miles of exposed borders with millions of illegal immigrants crossing every year. If you limit that vast expanse of border to a few tunnels, the numbers will drop. It will help to stem the destruction of our schools, hospitals and social programs.

Throw a hand grenade in the tunnels, that will stop them.
When you have a president that won't enforce our laws. he needs to be thrown out.
