I got a 1997 lincoln town car executive. 141034 miles its silver with black leather interior. Nice radio system (cd player good sound) also I have 20 inch rims almost new low profile tires. i haven't had any problems and there isn't any known or obvious problem except the driver seat is torn alittle bit (wear and tear) but I do have the mysterious "CHECK ENGINE" light on well it comes and it goes but not sure why. In VA could you give me a estimate on what you think the value is. Thanks for you time and help

A CEL on a 140k domestic? Holy cow. I promise, I would not buy the car.

but for argument's sake, with the CEL on, 1k + 50% the cost of the rims/tires

Get the CEL fixed, and it'll add at least a thousand.

The engine light may be on because you need to take it to a dealership to have them reset it, they will go on at certain mileage intervals as a basic reminder to have the car serviced. Or something could be really wrong w/it. But prices are, approx.=-Retail, in good condition, is $7500.00, Trade In-$3100.00 Private Party Sale-$4900.00.
