Where have you been? Every time a Christian answers about their beliefs, some of these non-believers go crazy almost. What do you call all that name calling and stuff? BTW, please don't speak for all Christians.

I have a great sense of humor- but I don't like it when anyone's religion is made fun of or satired by non-believers- I guess it depends on the skit or how it's done. I definitely believe that there is a line that should never be crossed.
To try to answer your question, though, I will say that it seems that we (Christians) are being attacked now more than ever. Should we just give up everything we believe in because some people refuse to respect the idea of people following the wisdom of God? It would be much easier to let ourselves be guided by the whims of human nature, but we choose to be guided by something greater. If you don't, I can respect that. I don't have to understand your thinking, or agree, but I can respect your right to make the choice. Peace, brother.

Your kidding right?
Find something an atheist believes and question it and expect a wrath of insults.
The problem is they don't stand anywhere (anywhere worth discussing) so finding an area to question them is difficult.
Lastly, Christians are attacked constantly on this board by the supposedly 'superior' minds of the 'atheist'.
That tells you *a lot* about atheists (by the way, I am an 'atheist') and also shows Christians aren't as 'sensitive' as you (and other judgmental atheists) think they are.
Edit:
The post by mr3dphd below deserves the best answer, but my guess is you'll give it to someone that agrees with you.
*That* should tell you something.

You're making a very strange comparison here. First of all, what does atheism have to do with science? Atheism is the belief that there is no God. That's it. There is absolutely no science involved. Science is ANY system of knowledge attained by verifiable means. You can not verify that there is or is not a God.
Secondly, contrary to...I guess, YOUR belief...christians actually DO believe in science. I think you're confusing science with evolution for some reason (which is theory, not science). Many (not all) Christians do not believe evolution is factual.
I happen to be a Christian who DOES believe in evolution. God made science. God uses science. Its as simple as that. Who says He didn't create the world by scientific means?
Of course an Athiest won't get mad when you make fun of science!! No one in their right mind would...what kind of personal connection can you have with "science"?!?
I'm sure an Athiest would get mad if I mad fun of his/her mother though. That's your answer right there...people get upset when you hit them on a personal level...like their family. Maybe instead of making fun of Christians, you should respect their beliefs and understand that God holds a personal place in their hearts. Just because you don't believe in God doesn't mean you should mock other people for believing in Him.

Well, your question is filled with hasty conclusions.
Not all Christians are "sensitive" about Christianity. Say what you wish, and I, for one, will address it fairly.
Some atheists do indeed get upset--self-righteous, condescending, and whatnot--when one points out a flaw in their alleged scientific thinking. Moreover, not all atheists are knowledgeable about the broad field of science. Some are quite uninformed.
As for lightening up, it is only when you repent for your own blasphemy and disregard for the gift of salvation of your soul that you come to clearly see--and have great remorse for--how offensive prideful declarations about God and oneself are. Maybe you will receive the gift of faith, and maybe you will not. If you do, may God help and keep you as you look into the excruciating image in the mirror.

I don't know that we are overly sensitive but that others like yourself are so insensitive. What is it you seek by asking this question?
As a Christian we believe Jesus died for our sins. While we were yet sinners he laid down his life for us.
It is intolerance and hate towards any group that makes our world what it is today. Where have compassion and acceptance of others gone? Are you so narrow minded that you feel your way is the only way?
Some Christian are so overly passionate about the Love of Christ they feel compelled to share the Good News with ears that are not ready to hear.
The Bible warns us to not waste our time on such people.
Mt 7:6
"Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.
Jesus called the twelve followers together. Jesus sent them out in groups of two. Jesus gave them power over evil spirits. This is what Jesus told his followers: “Take nothing for your trip. Take only a stick for walking. Take no bread, no bag, and no money in your pockets. Wear shoes, and take only the clothes you are wearing. When you enter a house, stay in that house until you leave that town. If any town refuses to accept you or refuses to listen to you, then leave that town. Shake their dust off your feet. This will be a warning to them.”
Our relationship with God is a Father child relationship and we don't like you speaking poorly of the One that we love.
Maybe you will be blessed with a child at some point in your life and will then be able to have a better understanding of this unconditional love that is given as a free gift to all who believe.
I hope you feel passion about something in your life and then you will have little time to spend bashing those you do not know.
peace and happiness

first off, every attack that i see on here to from an non-believer. many go overboard on these questions. i personally think that it is sad the way some people are attacked.
second, christians defend their belief because, like anyone else, we want to show people why we believe what we believe. that is just human nature to want others to know why and what you are thinking.
last, if someone flat out says you are going to hell then they are in the wrong. no one but Jesus has the right to make that judgement. we as christians are to make it our job to show people the love of Christ which can save them from hell, not judge anyone!

To better understand what someone else is thinking, you must put yourself in their shoes, not try to understand them in your POV. To a Christian, God is our Father. We know our Father exists, we talk with Him etc... Imagine that someone constantly told you that your dad, who you know and talk to, doesn't exist just because they haven't met him? Wouldn't that be annoying? You don't have to believe in my God to understand how that would feel do you?
Another point would be: If I believe that the Bible is true, and people who don't know Christ are going to hell, that should upset me. I should be scared for those who don't believe. I should want to warn them of the impending doom right? That would only be the logical thing to do.
You have to assume that what a person believes is true to see where they are coming from.

I think we only get "sensitive" because we are attacked and persecuted sometimes. We believe in God with our whole mind, soul and strength. And for hurtful people to kick in w/ their 2 cents just to hurt some of us, makes us defensive. Wouldn't you? If someone told you your father wasn't real? And the home you know doesn't exist?
Never mind, you wouldn't understand. But I'll pray for you too.
I am so enlightened up. God bless.

i think DOGMA was a great movie poking fun at organized religion in general. being agnostic, the christians consider me ignorant and i need to be saved or im going to hell and whatever else negative they can come up with. christians believe the more people they recruit and 'save' the higher up they will get in heaven. so its a constant effort for them to prove they are the best and get to the top. sounds like corporate america to me.

The posting above, by Captain Douche, is not from one of The Christian Faith... While the Book of Psalms is a good one... it is not apropriate to post it in it's intirety... and given the avitar it should be clear that this was done to falsly portray those of The True Christian Faith.
