Some of pro-illegals seem to think that anyone who wants to come here should be able to without any restrictions. The only requirement is that they "want a better life". America apparently has an unlimited supply of resources that everyone in the world is entitled to.

Well if we never had any immigration laws............ then this country would have not been where it is now.
Agreed everyone wants a better life and come here and use our resources....... but can we not forget the fact that some people come here legally and follow the process....... so why should some people come illegal and try to take the jobs which a legal immigrant might do.
Well if we open our borders for all the illegal immigrants then this country will be worse than a third world country.
This country is a free world but every free thing comes with a cost in here and coming illegal is not the right way to do it.
Also remember if you come here legal or illegal......... this is your country then don't fly your country flag and march on the roads, respect this country.

I think that this country would have much more immigrants .There would be more immigrants than natural citizens because there would be no law stopping them from coming over. That would mean less jobs for the citizens and more jobs for the immigrants who are willing to work for less. America doesn't have an unlimited supply of resources to make you happy because once you are happy you always want more and that can happen any where you live.

And what immigration alws are you talking about? You mean if the Europeans never settled here? Then this land would still belong to the native Americans.

It is in our constitution......give us your tired and weary........and that is what makes us so powerful and successfull by attracting the best talents from all over the world and yes sometimes we also get the bad ones too but that is a trade off we are willing to accept...because with power and money comes responsibility and that is why we help the entire world.....If it you bothers you so much then why dont you leave.....gate is wide open.
Dont stay here and be a Selfish, Self-Consuming, Bigot - because that is not what the UNITED STATES of America is about!!

If we never had any restrictions, we would have had to fix our free-ride system a long time ago. Perhaps it would be a better place now because then, not even natural-born citizens would have this sense of entitlement to everyone else's wallets.

I'm sure that white people wanted their slaves to stay at their service. Was that their right to keep them as slaves as long as they pay for them? it is the same thing everyone wants a better life and there will always be someone bigger and stronger then them that will try to stop them from doing so. Try to understand this people they come here for better life. Not as Terrorist! not because they want to take what is yours but because of hunger to give their families the best.

I like this question. When the Irish came over there were people in this country that called them monkeys and printed cartoons about them (seems foolish to whites, huh?). Now, a few hundred years later the Hispanic population is in the cross-hairs. Politicians are using it as ammunition to stay in office.

(NO OFFENCE TO ANYBODY) BUT I THINK THAT ANY PERSON WITHOUT A VISA OR GREEN CAR CAN GO BACK TO WHERE THAY CAME FROM, EVERYBODY THINKS THIS COUNTRY IS THE PROMISED LAND AND IT REALLY IS BUT IF WE DID NOT HAVE ALL THE IMERGRENTS LIVING HERE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE WOULD BE ALOT LOWER AND THE TAXES WOULD BE DOWN CUZ WE WOULD NOT HALF-TO SPEND ALL THE MONEY ON PROGRAMS SUCH AS (WICK, AND BRIDGE CARDS) DONT GET ME WRONG BUT SOME PEOPLE ABUSE THEM.

No, I for one have enough common sense to know that we need to control our borders for national security purposes....but As I have mentioned many times before. ICE.... INS.... whatever they call themselves these days needs to be completely torn down and edified with specific departments with specific job details... They must be held accountable for their work ethics. You for example as a law abiding citizen (hopefully) do not have racist reasons for reporting someone does not even know who to report them too.... This bureaucratic monster of a department does not serve the Public in its work... nor does it serve its purpose in granting work permits for those who have applied.... what good are they? They have the attitude that I will get to them when I get to them not just to the people who they are supposed to serve .... But to the USA citizen who in essence supplies them with that paycheck that they do not earn..... Heads up...... Rebuild this monster of a department while building this wall across the border.
