I like fat people, I have many fat friends. But, should they be allowed to preach? Isn't Christianity about not indulging yourself? How can someone who has a gluttony problem TELL the fornicators not to fornicate? How does a guy leaving the pulpit TELLING the liars not to lie and he if going for a BUCKET of fried chicken?

It just seems like hypocrisy to preach self-control and yet lack control over your own belly. Is their motto: Moderation in everything EXCEPT gorging and stuffing food? And don't tell me fat people don't eat a lot and that they have a thyroid problem...I don't buy that oldie. Also, when these people speak they make fat people jokes...can you imagine a preacher in an adulterous affair telling jokes about it?

Can you listen to fat people telling you about self-control and moderation?

I think I may have to leave if a fat preacher got up to speak?

I think you are right...the bottom line is self-control. The issue is not about judging people its about people in out right sin...gluttony. I don't want a preacher that lies, fornicates, hates, judges or eats all the time

I'm almost tempted to agree with you, if only because that would diqualify a number of my least favorite preachers. However, nobody should expect preachers to be perfect. Because there CAN be physical factors involved in obesity (not nearly always, but it IS possible) I try not to judge a persons level of gluttony until I've seen how he (or she) lives. Yes, I do have a problem with a glutton telling me about moderation, but that's not the only form of hypocrite preaching today. I have more problems with a greedy, rich pastor who manipulates his flock into shearing themselves for his benefit preaching about, well, anything.

According to the Scriptures, God Is Not Partial!

“See what you are doing, because it is not for man that you judge but it is for Jehovah . . . Be careful and act, for with Jehovah our God there is no unrighteousness or partiality.”—2 Chronicles 19:6, 7.

“God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”—ACTS 10:34, 35.

“GOD who made the world and all that is in it, being Lord of both Heaven and earth, does not live in man-made temples . . . From one ancestor he has created every race of men to live over the face of the whole earth.” (Acts 17:24-26, Phillips)

Surely, this proves that there is no partiality on God’s part. Moreover, Jehovah commanded the Israelites to “love the alien resident” and “not mistreat him,” regardless of his race or nationality. (Deuteronomy 10:19; Leviticus 19:33, 34) This is also in respects to wether you are fat or skinny, or tall or short. Truly, then, our loving Father in heaven is not partial.

Einstein said: “condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.”

Careful research can be seen throughout America and the world, how the majourity of obese people are not "Fat" from eating to much. Rather, it is the excess amount of "genetically alltered" and process foods that are used and allow by the FDA for the interest of profits on behalf of the corporations/agricultural agencies. (See the documentary: "The Corporation")
In fact, over 93% of the American foods are genetically alltered. Allowing congress to subsidies these unsafe foods for profits that benefits to these companies. Even the "milk", or "cereals" is bad! Look it up? This is why health foods cost more.

which of us is perfect. those who are without sin cast the first stone. we who are tolerant must be tolerant of those who are not but physical appearance should have nothing to do with how good a speaker is or how good the message is. nor should the gender or if the person is in a wheelchair or not. when one starts limiting what qualifications are needed where does one stop? how about the minister's political party ?

Gluttony is a sin, true. However, Jesus Christ was the only person who was free of sin, therefore, give these people a break. Gluttony is one of the few sins you can actually see. The rest of us commit sins that aren't quite so obvious. But we can all be forgiven!
