how long does it take to be a registered nurse approx.?

2-4 years, depending on which degree you want. An associate's will normally take about two years while a Bachelor's will take four or five years.

If you can get into the program within a college, you are looking for about 2-4 years, depending on the amount of classes you are willing to take at one time. You have to also remember you will need your general education classes, if you place high in a placement test for the college or have higher Math and English classed you took in H.S. then you will spend less time in college.

My aunt is one and I belive she spent 6 years in college.
