HI,I think we should have more info on this, I will take a guess on it.If you have cable I would say it`s a cable box problem.If the sound increases from lower channels to higher number. Also if local channels sound are OK,it definitely is the problem. Call your provider for service,should not be a charge. Good -Luck ROSCO

If your tv is using direct from antenna,your tv sound circuit sections got fault.Like leakage of capacitors or moisture.Easiest way and if you are lucky,you can try-using hair dryer and blow hot air to tv pcb board(tuner box, IF box) ofcouse you must open tv cover.
