One wonders. If the Soviet Union had simply stayed out of the Pacific conflict at the end as they had throughout the war years, then a divided Korea would never have existed. Once it was divided, I think yes, it was inevitable that Communist North Korea with the backing of Communist China would in fact go after South Korea.

No. Both sides wanted the other to change politics so much. This conflict has ended (two separate nations) after the Korean War. Couldn't had avoided the war when the North was filled with Soviet politics and the South governed by US and capitalist ideals.

Do you mean American involvement? If that is the case, then no it was not inevitable. But the politicos running the government at the time were 'world improvers' who decided it was America's job to police the world.

Korea wasnt a war it was what we call a police action, also it never ended we just signed a treaty.
