Events in our lives are lambs in wolves clothing. Why should I worry what happens to me in this life, as long as I know eternity is in order? The Bible says, "Our lives are as grass." Basically, we have a short time. If I'm worried about the non-believer getting the perks and me getting coal, my heart is in the wrong place.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
Why do bad things happen to good people? I recall the great song in the movie The Color Purple... "Maybe God is tryin' to tell you somethin'"
As someone who has had his share of life calamities, I can tell you this--God was always there with me. In Him I have always hoped, and in Him I have never been dissappointed.

Abuda,
I have gone though these same feeling even up to recently and the truth is life is NOT fair and bad things happen to Good people.
I wanted children more than anything in the whole world. I am married about 13 years, and there were people who got to have children that had a very lax moral lifestyle yet they were blessed and God told me no.
I would encourage you to pray about this and give it over to God daily. But I do know what you are saying very much so.
You are not progressing not because you are a failure but sometimes God puts us in a holding pattern where all we can do is wait I was in a 4 year courtship with my husband and we did not have $ex until we were married.
Success is very overrated in society because in life you fail before you succeed every successful person has had failure in their lives.
Wait on the Lord look to God for your strength Psalm 105:4 and remember what you see on the outer surface of a person is not what is really is behind closed doors, things are not always what they seem.

Just because you don't see your friend going to church or not fearing God he does not deserve a good life and you suffer while you follow what is required of a good Christian.
Instead of asking why and wondering about it, why not give thanks that your friend is lucky and then focus your attention to yourself if what you are praying for is really what you want to have. Maybe, the choice you are making is not where your luck is pointed at, and try to give thanks for everything you get, no matter how little it is then move on and give extra effort in your action. A short prayer and a lot of action maybe better than expecting miracle from a bent knee most of the time. Avoid being judgemental about people's luck or lack of it and refrain from blaming God as if He does not hear your calls.

i truly do not realize this question. What i'd favor has no longer some thing to do with some thing. undesirable and strong issues ensue to human beings, no matter if the guy 'advantages' them or no longer. If someone does undesirable issues, there is not any insurance that they are going to be punished, or you'll not have evil useful human beings. yet because there are a variety of of Cheneys and Kim Il Jungs and Mugabis in the international, prosperous, insulated, in a position to do undesirable without retribution, i anticipate the regulations of Karma aren't any further precise. Likewise, those who do good issues bypass unrewarded and left out. tricky yet authentic. existence is random and no one is keepingthe score.

everything that happens, happens for a reason, keep that in mind. u may not know right away why, but in time u will. sometimes, i think, God needs to show his message and he uses his faithful ones to show them.u sacrifice for God to show your loyality and obidence to him. God will come 2 u when the time is right and make u aware of the reasons things happen the way they do. dont question him, though, believe, trust, and have patience, and u'll get all ur answers when time is right. people who do bad things & dont pray or go 2 church, they dont always have all the good things happen 2 them. God knows whats hes doing, has a master plan is what i've learned. his children who know right and follow him has an award waiting for them in heaven, the ones who do bad and strays will will suffer, but like a mother & her child, God loves all his children and gives them chances. & as with any luck, if we dont heed his warnings, one day the luck will run out and the suffering begins.

Because - in your example - the friend was focused on succeeding and accomplishing his goals while the person who wasn't succeeding was too busy worrying about God instead of living his life and setting, working toward, and reaching his own goals. On top of that - one does not have to go to church or openly pray to God to be a good Christian. Some people do keep religion to themselves. But I don't think religion has anything to do with how successful you'll be. You're either a sheep or a shark. You either follow through with your goals or you don't. You can't rely on God for everything.

The idea bad things only happen to good people is a myth. Trouble is an equal-opportunity offender (see these passages in the Bible: John 16:33, 1 Peter 4:12, 1 Peter 5:8-9). You probably just don't hear as much about it from people who live their lives in such a way that the majority vote is that they are a "bad" person. The people relegated to that corner as their place in the world usually figure they had it coming, so they probably just don't whine about it as much.

Why do good things happen to bad people?
Lets make the assumption the your God doesn't control every event in you life o.k? We can therefore assume that a certain amount of negative events will happen be chance. We can also assume that if you take responsibility for you actions and life that you can control to a certain extent the out come.
So I would look a what your doing and stop leaning on you religion for the answers.

When the God is a construct invented by Jewish patriarchs in 100 BC in their own image, you're going to have these problems.
Did it ever occur to you that the God of the bible is an invention of primitive people to explain what they didn't understand and thereby appear knowledgeable enough to maintain control over the rest of the people? 'God' is in nature and all the great gifts we have just being here. That's a lot, but it is all there is. No personal conversations, guidance, or special privileges included.

Because I really believe God doesn;t want us to FEAR him.
how are you suposed to love something that you fear, God wants us to love worship and respect him,
Most people don't realize when something bad happens to them,it is most likely karma comming back. If you do something to hurt someone five years ago, well Karma can still hit you, there is no time limit. So next time something bad happens, don't wine and say why me, reflect on it, and aske yourself, have I maybe done this to some one else in my past?
