Subtlety,. . . . isn't a concept understood, let alone appreciated by the majority of users in Answers, I don't suppose you've noticed.
Partially because a lot of the users/abusers here are immature children and inexperienced AND Immature adults.

Now - to your question, understandably you wish pursue your career without the complications of sexual harassment ever being the issue. Since it is a detriment to all women who are trying to maintain a professional standard in their choice of career.

Casual touching is the key, not in the most obvious or crude means as the others are recommending.

But using your own best sense of appropriateness, for example a light touch on the shoulder, a brush of the arm, touching him without getting near his privates.
You have to be patient, as you need to give him the opportunity to mull over his impressions and to gather the courage to respond in a fashion that he may perceive as appropriate.

Subtlety - is not something easily taught, since its mostly something that is cultivated with experience and intelligence.
Gentleness and Patience is most appropriate to learning Subtlety.
But the majority of peers really don't have the patience to fully understand the concept.

I can only say that I hope you get the desired results from your efforts & good luck!

cheers babe!

First, start by touching his arm when you talk to him, also bend over in front of him when you know he's looking. Also, rub his arm. You could also touch his inner leg if you are sitting. Smile a lot, and try to put your face close to his. Invite him to a movie. While you are watching, lean in a little and if it's a scary movie, hide your eyes on his shoulder, put your head on his shoulder, etc.

Ask him if he would like to escort you to a special theater function or something classy like an art museum exhibition.

Ask him out on a date or to the movies. Maybe lunch even.

Subtle works if you don't want him to notice. You have to be obvious. He won't get it unless you are.

Subtlety does not work well with men. be straight forward and let him know that you are interested.
