The days 2,000 years ago, if thats when the fables in the book were written, may have had days in a totally differant structure........... perhaps the 'day of rest' actually goes from Tuesday midday to Wednesday lunchtime on the modern day accepted calendar system.
To people assume too much in the bible book and relate those assumptions to modern day living because thats what is considered 'normal' ???

If you think that's bad you should look into the origins of Christian holidays.

Actually the seventh day is the Sabbath which originally was saturday. Which is why the Jewish holy day is Saturday. The sabbath was only changed to sunday during the roman times. This is why in the Western calendar the week actually starts on Sunday.

Oh yeah, and the bible was written longer than 2 thousand years ago perhaps about 8 thousand years ago (not sure though)

No, the Bible was written by Jewish people who had their own calendar. Most cultures have a 7 day week with a day off. That seems to be how long you can work continuously without a break.

The Jewish sabbath runs from sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday. Christians have their day off on Sunday. Muslims have theirs on Friday.

The Gregorian calendar is a much more recent invention. So you believe in that then?

No names were used by the Hebrews for the days of the week, except for the seventh day, called the Sabbath.
Reference was made to the various days by their numerical order.
In the days of Jesus and his apostles, the day preceding the Sabbath was called the Preparation. (Mt 28:1; Ac 20:7; Mr 15:42; Joh 19:31
The practice of naming the days after the names of the planets and other heavenly bodies was pagan. The Romans named the days after the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, but in northern Europe, four of these names were later changed into the Germanic equivalents of the Roman gods whom the days represented.

Sunday was the creation of the Catholic Church, but the main factor is taking a day dedicated to God. In some Countries, they do it on other days. As for the time of the Bible, they used the lunar calendar. Most Christians don't recognize the significance of Niacin 14, of the old Jewish calendar, even though it is the only day Christ said to continue observing.
