I think Jack Straw has been badly portrayed, all he asked was could muslim females remove their veils for meetings with him in his offices and other politicians have asked for people to remove their sunglasses or crash helmets. It is very rude to talk to people without seeing their eyes or faces. The Koran only says that "females should be covered modestly"
If I went to Saudia Arabia, I wouldnt expect to drink alcohol and if I went to a Muslim country, I wouldnt wear a bikini or short dress.
I am going to Southern Ireland next week and my friend (who lives there) has said they hate the British and cheer when a British soldier gets killed. I will try to fit in and would not try to get on the wrong side of any one there.
I cannot change the world, but my honest opinion is, United Kingdom let too many foreigners in and those they do should be grateful and respect our traditions and ways.
There are too many mosques being built now and there are asylum seekers begging on the streets now in towns and being given too many handouts. They want to keep in their own little cliques and not socialise, how many muslims do you see in a crowd on a telly show?
I think the government know they have made a mistake.

what a shame that men always get away looking down there noses at the muslim's.all of us forget what they did to the irish i guess now that there is a new set of cast and race to attack we will get away with it,what is there to be so anti muslim about.
respect people the way they are why wast your time and energy making enemies they will be better as your friends then your enemies.leave that to the leader's of our country's you know which way they are taking us onto a war zone where they will be back firing on us stop hating anyone for the colour of there skin or religion.
when you sick or serious in hospital and you need blood and a part to be transplanted as if you know who donated the blood or the part it could be a brown person or a muslim then what your gonna go the doctor and tell him no you wont have the blood because its muslim blood or its a black persons part.no as they say beggers cant be choosers and when you in trouble you helper could be your only enemy in your own thoughts.
stop being anti muslim its like being animal like, they dont have a brain and they dont know what they are doing.so be like a human not a brain less person.

know what you and maid marion mean. but it's more anti "being screwed" - illegal and legal immigrants of all nationalities abusing welfare state and nhs (just read the papers), home grown benefit scroungers all apparently getting a better deal than the hardworking honest folk.
Muslims (currently) are just the worst at making their opinion widely known that they are not happy living under UK law. In my opinion if they want to live under Sharia Law they should move a muslim country, whilst anyone of any nation, creed or religion they should live and abide by UK law.
The government and judiciary also need to go along way to ensure that the law is applied to all UK residents regardless.
The media (rightly or wrongly) paint the picture that certain minorities are above the law which is very wrong.
Don't think theres votes in it for Jack Straw, conservatives aren't right wing enough to capitalise on it and BNP are way too right wing, UKIP maybe (?).

or he's just be making a stand for what he believes in,i for one am GLAD that some one is standing up and not apologising for their point of view about Muslims
if there is any "anti-Muslim" feelings they brought it upon themselves and the only thing their underestimating is the anti- west ,anti- Britain feelings amongst the many in the Muslim community

Is it anti-muslim though? I wouldn't say i was anti-muslim but it does annoy me that we respect their cultures/traditions when we visit their countries and they dont do the same when here.
