Because there is no evidence of any kind that there is a god, or that there's any need for one. Our scientific knowledge has taught us that most of the things in our world we used to attribute to gods (control of weather, plagues like famine, drought, locusts, etc.) all have perfectly natural causes. We've outgrown the need to believe in a higher power to control our lives like we had in the infancy of our species. We've found the truth that the myths describing creation, the age of the earth, and how things came to be in the bible are plain wrong, and our discoveries are backed up by objective, reliable, observable evidence and not some just-so story told thousands of years ago by ignorant savages. We don't need boogey-man stories of a devil and hell to keep us in line or to scare us into following a leader. And despite over 2,000 years of time that have elapsed since jesus was around, there's never been a single shred of proof that anything claimed about him being divine, being resurrected, etc. is true.
Time to grow up with the rest of the world and leave the childish fairy-tales behind. Knowledge is power, dogma makes you weak and unable to think clearly.

I belive in lots of things. I also don't belive in alot of things. If you mean religion. I have seen nothing to support it. The day a god of some kind comes in person and talks to me, I might belive. People get a warm fuzzy feeling, or a chill in their spine and say god spoke or touched them. Those things happen during a nice or scary movie as well. If one of the "gods" wants me to belive, they will be brave and say something. Not cowardly like an earthquake that everyone runs around yelling, thats gods work. But brave, speak, with a mouth, out loud.

I don't believe that there is only one god and he is a man.
I don't believe in a great seat of evil that attempts to influence all of our actions - better known as Satan.
I don't believe in the creation myth set out in Genesis although I do accept the message inherent in all creation myths.
I don't believe that something outside of ourselves is responsible for our actions nor do I believe that "something" will sit in judgment of us all.
I do believe in cause and effect and personal responsibility.
