The last Civil War in the United States cost 660,000 lives. In today's population, that would be 10,000,000 Million dead approximately. That means one out of three ,Americans would die. So if we have a civil war, we all need fives years of food, water, guns, bullets, clothing, shoes, shelter and so forth because no one else is going to be able to care for us.
A full scale Civil War in the United States in 2007 would mean the end of the United States, we would cease to exist as a Country.
So, the right wing better go back to sleep or where ever it came from because historically the modern US is a liberal Democracy since 1936, very much like the European, Canadian models.

We are no where close to civil war, although the country is becoming more divided than ever. The current division seems to be over President Bush. He will be out of office in a couple of years and some new person will be the focus of the left and right, while the middle continues to go on with life as usual.
As broken as some people think this country is, it is still the most prosperous and has more personal freedom than any other country in the world. It would be dumb to give that up for a civil war that would cost millions of lives.

I seriously doubt there will be a Civil War.
Basically the country is split along party lines more or less equally, and you might think this suggests widespread violence, but if you look close, the two parties work toward the same things 90% of the time, with the only difference being who gets to be in charge and take credit for things. They aren't going to risk rocking the gravy boat, so when their own troops get too cranky, they'll settle things down.
If that's complete nonsense, explain James Carville being married to Mary Matalin.

Several years ago, this was about to become reality, but the government went around and killed off the Militia groups, and litterally killed everyone else - such as the Waco incident, and enacted tough gun laws throughout the US so that normal citizens could not arm themselves anymore.
Then they illegally put a president in power, and filled Congress with corrupt politicians and started an illegal war to make sure that nobody that was of age to pose a threat to the US was in the country anymore.
And finally several laws were passed, the most important one making it illegal to print, own or posses a copy of the Constitution in any form not marked and stamped by the US government - meaning nobody knows what the Constitution actually says anymore because of a second part of that law that says the Constitution is a fluid document, changeable by politicians.
So nowadays, there cannot be a Civil War anymore...

I see more of a revolution, the poor will rise up and vote, the middle class will have enough of the rich taking their money. This will happen when we vote.

no ... it will never happen ... however if things continue the way they are going i do forsee the govt using unrest or smaller-scale uprisings of violence to implement martial law and disarm the population.
