Christians have a cross, what (as a symbol) could we all stand behind?

The idea is not to dogmatize, but to find something we can all rally around. We need to do it soon too, things are starting to look bleaker and bleaker here in the U.S.

trouthunter has a good point. We are a very diverse bunch, but then again, there are many many sects of xians and they all agree on a cross.

A brain sounds like a good one. Maybe a lightbulb? Or an outline of a human figure (or would that look the symbol for the men's room?).

maybe a circle surrounding a question mark...question everything.

the serpant in the garden, the mark of cain, the tower of Babel, the smouldering ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood, the head of Goliath, the noose of Haman, the claws and long hair of Nebuchdnezzar, or the goblet that Belshazzar drank from. The whip the soldiers used on Jesus, the spear that pierced His side, the basin that Pilate washed his hands in, the rope that Judas hung himself with, the stones that killed Stephan, the swords used to kill the Christians, the lions they were fed to, the tar they were covered in to make street lights for the Romans, any of these things should work for your group.

I think a simple torch, which has been a symbol of enlightenment, education and learning for ages since in Greek mythology Prometheus stole fire from the gods for humankind.

Well, there's that bizarre three-orbits and letter-'A' symbol that American Atheists use... But I don't like it at all.

What about the symbol of a light bulb? Symbolising enlightenment?

Getting Atheist together is like "trying to herd cats". Its very difficult to get a group of free thinkers to agree on an agenda. Maybe a big statue of Darwin, or an icon of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Interesting question. It implies creative, inquiring thought as well as a necessity for proof. Maybe the telescope with the image of Galileo?

A true atheist needs NOT a symbol or a badge or any image.

Those are dogmatic practices.

You sir are a moron.

You could...but I think a "religious" book would be better. Just look at all the wonderful case law throughout the world. It shows just how stupid christians are and just what a fallacy they are.
