There really is no set standard for this. I would recommend making a list of 3-5 churches you like (if you are not affiliated with a specific church) and then contacting them. The fee will vary from church to church, and a larger church will undoubtedly cost more. As one person mentioned, some churches will not charge a fee if you are considered a member of that congregation, although they may request you undergo a premarital counseling session (a couple of hours) with the clergy who is performing the ceremony. The clergy's fee will vary also, and may or may not be included in the site fee. It doesn't have to be expensive. If you are trying to budget, I would initially allot $500.00 total for a ceremony location and clergy. If you choose wisely, you should be able to come in quite a bit below that amount.

Let's get one thing straight here people - churches most certainly charge for weddings! It doesn't mean that ALL churches charge but they DO charge. I'm in the process now of looking for churches and the fees range from $100 to $1500! I personally feel it's highway robbery. I've finally settled on a church with a rental fee for the rehearsal and wedding ceremony at $200. There is a custodial fee and a support fee for the music, microphones, etc. Those fees were $150 together. So for $350.00, I have a church.

It really depends on a lot of things it is not a simple answer like you would hope it is. It depends on the size of the church, and where you live. If you are a member they usually don't charge you anything. The best thing you could do is start calling around and asking. Just call and say Hi I am calling to find out if you have to be a member to get married in your church and how much it cost. Some churches you have to be a member or know the pastor or know a member of the church to be able to get married there. I know that is stupid but some churches are like that.

It all really depends on the size and location of the church. A little suggestion... most churches have a deal with the members. If you are a member, you can use the church at no charge. For my wedding, I didn't have to pay a thing, since I was a member, if I wasn't a member I would have had to pay $600. Just a suggestion... hope it helps :)

Church's do not "charge" for a Wedding, however you need to plan ahead for the date to be open, most of the time you can have whoever you want preform the Ceremony, either way, you should have an envelope with a monetary gift in it for the person performing the Ceremony, also if you have music... ie; an organist or singer, you should also have a smaller gift of money in an envelope for them. Your Fiance' and You should agree on the amount's beforehand. Congratulation's & Best Wishes To You and Your Fiance'.

some just take a donation, or some charge........it should cost around $200.00. I would (if the donation was the option) give based on the size of the wedding the more guests the more $$. The $$$ goes to not just the officiant, but for the sound setup and the maintenance or cleanup after the ceremony.

Our church charged around $50 only because my parents are actively involved (board etc). Regularly I've seen $200 - $250 (I've planned 3 of my friends weddings).

I only have experience with catholic churches. They do not charge. However, you are encouraged to make a donation to the church. So in effect there is a charge. Nothings free!

in case you're no longer a member of the church, assume a value. I stay in a small city in Ohio and to get married at a church the place i'm no longer a member it might run us a minimum of $500. i'm finding at getting married in the church the place i'm a member. would rather no longer, because of the fact of a few matters that happened there whilst i became in intense college, yet i'm no longer approximately to pay $500 or extra in basic terms for a church. My church is going to run approximately $2 hundred. there's a $a hundred nonrefundable deposit just to order the date, $50 for the mandatory wedding ceremony coordinator (makes useful the church is open and sparkling for the prepare consultation, ceremony, and for Sunday centers the following day), and $50 for a sound room tech. it honestly relies upon what you p.c.. i understand alot of church homes value extra beneficial for musicians, in case you employ theirs. At my church, an organist is $seventy 5, a pianist $a hundred twenty five, a vocalist $seventy 5, and a harpist is $a hundred seventy five.
