I don't see how being a high school coach really relates to the present situation. If you are trying to say that he should have been more cautious and skeptical...then maybe, but I don't think being a coach has anything to do with that!

The majority of representatives and senators are lawyers. They should have been even more worried.
And what hasn't been widely noted is the young man Foley was writing is over 18. Democrats say nothing about Barney Franks being openly gay. And they have said nothing about the other 'indescrecions' in the past by Democrats. But then those things were done by DEMOCRATS. I guess that makes it OK. Or is it Democrats suffer from long term memory loss?
Foley has resigned because of Republican pressure. At present Foley hasn't even been indicted for anything yet. Remember Wilber Mills cavorting nude with Fannie Foxe by the Potomec? He served out his term before choosing not to run for re-election.
I could cite many other cases but I'll let you find them on your own.

I agree. He should have been concerened having a background dealing with youths. Foleys fundraising ablilities must have eased Haster's worries a bit. Now turning a blind eye to the matter will most likely cost their party control of the house.
