I wanted to get something personalized with our names, possibly with our birthstones on them. I'm not spending more than $100 as I will be spending around $4000 for her engagement ring.

Skip the promise ring and get the engagement ring. It's kind of a 'childish' thing and hopefully you're both old enough.
Now, there is such a thing as a right hand ring so if you wanted to do that, you could. Or, pick something like a necklace or bracelet. I think girls should only get the most important ring...

You're a sweet guy tho. I wish my BF would buy me shiney stuff! :)

dude, don't get her a silly "promise" ring. that is a cheap way of putting off the engagement. trust me. i know two people that have given & received a so called "promise ring" and both regeted ever doing it. just wait and save up the money for an engagment ring. afterall that is the true sign of marriage. not a promise ring. my own g/f would never stand for a promise ring. to make any women truley happy give her the real thing.

i do not imply this to come back out the incorrect approach, however i would not - eventually for the reason that i uncover "promise" earrings to be foolish and needless-plus i'm a bit of older and am handed that age variety wherein persons take a look at replacing or giving out "promise" earrings to one another. Two persons must recognise by way of then (being in a courting for customarily two years) that their love among each and every different is powerful sufficient that not anything will ever occur among the 2 of them / that they're going to wait till they "do" unique "matters." If a "promise" ring is concerned at any factor for the duration of the connection, this implies that there's a loss of believe among the only character a minimum of, regardless of how powerful the affection would possibly look, this loss of believe is extra so on a unconscious degree.

What is a promise ring? Are you still in high school? I would save up and get her a really nice engagement ring.

Ya I am getting my girl one here in the next couple days too. Don't tell her though. Surprise her. I had this big ol' thing planned for my girl and she found out somehow, so now she knows about it all. But try and keep it from her. Girls seemed to like being surprised with gifts.

Whoa! How much are you spending for the actual wedding ring? You must be loaded. Anyways, I would not tell her just because from my experience, girls kind of like surprises - especially this kind of surprise. So, if you surprise her with one, do it so that she won't feel uncomfortable.

yepp.. tell her about your plan or maybe.. if you dun wanna tell
her cause u wanna surprise her.. ask her randomly on what she
thinks of couples where the boyfriend gives a promise ring to the
girlfriend.
as for me, i would definitely like the idea of a promise ring..
i think it's very sweet of you. all the best! :)

Well...if you are going to buy her a engagement ring...than don't tell her that you were going to but her a promise ring...It would be like her telling you.."I was going to buy you this, but I didn't"...I don't think she will be too happy with you...However, a braclet with her name on it would be nice...I think she should like that...
$4000 should buy you a nice engagement ring...way to go!!....

:)
